this is ti. software engineer by day, artist and writer by night

i code with go, ruby, js. i run my workloads on aws mostly. i like AI tools but i’m concerned about how we are using them. i make art with ink, watercolour, acrylic, block printing, colour pencil, markers, and charcoal/pencil. i also write, both in english and chinese, fiction and non-fiction. i play the violin, piano, and chinese flute — all very clumsily. u can speak to me in english or mandarin, i can converse in french too, but i much prefer not — it’s been a while.

the most important thing for me is authentic alignment between what i think, what i say, and how i behave. i enjoy serving data to others to help them make good decisions, and i enjoy collecting data to inform my own decisions. system thinking drives my day-to-day both in work and my personal life.

i also really like clouds, sunsets, crows, and the moon.
